darren hood

I designed my first website in 1995, working on the information architecture, reviewing the usability, evaluating readability and scannability, and conducting usability testing for a local non-profit organization — all before I knew what it really was. Since that time, I have proceeded to compile over 28 years of experience in the discipline we now know to be UX, working over the past 18+ years as a full-time UX professional, including work for the Fortune 50 and for some of the largest digital design agencies in the world. I am skilled and experienced in various types of UX-related disciplines, methods, and methodologies, including heuristics and usability, UX research, information architecture, interaction design, and interface design.

I also take great pleasure in mentoring and engaging in educational efforts, serving as an adjunct at Kent State University, UCLA, Brandeis University, Michigan State University, and Lawrence Technological University. I’m also the one of the featured authors in “97 Things Every UX Practitioner should know” and the host of The World of UX with Darren Hood podcast.
